HAPPY FRIDAY!
IT'S HERE! FRIDAY! YAY!
And I am feeling much better..... FINALLY! The antibiotics must have kicked in.
Here is a picture of me today at work in my cool new shirt.
You can't really tell in this picture just how cute it is.... there is a California Grey Squirrel by a camp fire! :-) There is also some leaves and acorns on it...I dubbed it, "my camping shirt," I saw it and had to have it because it reminded me of good times camping...RO likes it too...he says it makes him want to run away for the weekend and camp.... soon enough we will...Memorial Day weekend....

IS IT FRIDAY YET?
I am ready for it to be Friday!
Although I should be careful what I wish for - I have a lot to do between then and now, now and then... whatever!
I have to clean the whole house for one - we are having it appraised Thursday for our refi - oh what fun! NOT! I don't like strangers in my house - it is really going to suck to have them looking around all over at my house....oh well.... life.
I will be saying TGIF this Friday that is for sure.

Should have stayed home...
So I went to the doctors yesterday afternoon.... he said my eardrum looks as if it is about to burst!! Well that sounds about right cause my ears are KILLING me!!! One worst than the other (that is the one he said looks like it may burst). He also explained to me that the pressure is dropping because there is a storm coming which will make me ears feel worse (something I never really thought about but it made sense) which is why my ears were even worse yesterday and last week when we got the lightning/thunderstorm... He told me not to go to the beach or to the mountains the next fews days. He gave me two medicines and an antibiotic then told me to stay home a day or two to rest. He wanted to know if I needed a note. I told him I wouldn't need one, that I will go to work..... he sort of frowned at me and say okay - then sent me on my way.
Welp, now here I am at work miserable again :-( I should have listened to the the doctor and stayed home! At least for a day. AHHH! I could kick myself in the A$$ right now. Oh well! I guess it is better to be paid to be miserable than to be home miserable - but then again I am not resting am I? UGH! Oh well! Someday I will learn to listen to what the doctors say. They are much wiser than me.

Monday Blues
I am still not feeling well... boo hoo! I have a bad headache, earache and a stuffed up head! YUCK! Did a lot of sleeping this weekend - it seems it should have helped some but I still feel really crummy. I did do a bit of house cleaning and laundry I guess I should have let that wait...I really wanted to stay home all day today. If I had, I would have stayed I bed all day...I am going to the docs this afternoon to get my ear checked as it has been bugging me the past two weeks.

FRIDAY!!!!!!!
It's here! TGIF!
I can't wait to get home today... i woke up 4 times last night, couldn't breathe - Boo Hoo! I have a cold! I had a fever too about 4 am. I will take lots of Echinacea and hopefully chase it away.
We had a cool freak storm roll through last night. Weird because we weren't expecting any rain - I guess this one snuck in from the east and wrapped it's way around our mountains. From about 5pm to 6pm there was some Awesome Lightning and a few booms! Beautiful! I really enjoyed it. It sprinkled the rest of the night and into the morning.
Have a great day!

Chicken Noodle Soup
My Mom requested I post this one... Very simple and a yummy classic.
Great for rainy/snowy weather.
The recipe takes two days - but don't let that make you not attempt it - it is easy.

The recipe takes two days - but don't let that make you not attempt it - it is easy.
Chicken Noodle Soup
First thing you need to do is go buy yourself a rottissere chicken and have a light dinner or lunch with it. Save the carcass. (If you can't buy a rottissere, bake or BBQ a whole chicken first.)
1 whole chicken carcass
1 cup sliced carrots
1 celery bunch - sliced
1/2 small onion - sliced/chopped
1 can Chicken broth
4+ cups water
1Tbsp chicken broth powder
1/2 package fresh mushrooms
1 Tbsp Dried parsley
1 large bayleaf
salt/pepper
1/2 package Lg Extra Wide Egg Noodles
Try to pick meat off the tiniest bones of the chicken then pull apart the rest and throw it all in a large pot half filled with water. Boil this for about two hours or so. Pour into a bowl and let cool before covering and refridgerating over night.
The next day - pick all the meat off the bones and toss bones. Add chicken, onions, celery, bayleaf, parsley and carrots to a large pot with Chicken broth. Bring to a boil. Add powdered broth to two cups water and add this to soup. Add an addtional 2 cups water...boil an hour, stirring occasionally. Salt and pepper mushrooms then add them to the soup. Boil an additional hour.
The last 10 mintes or so cooking time - cook the noodles according to the package directions. Rinse cooked noodles with COLD water. Remove soup from the heat. DO NOT ADD NOODLES TO THE SOUP WHILE BOILING _ THIS WILL MAKE MUSHY NOODLES _ EWW!
Put some noodles in a bowl and laddle the soup mixture over the noodles.
Enjoy!
After the soup has cooled a bit you can add the remaining noodles to the soup and refridgerate or freeze the left overs... the soup is even better the next day.
It's Friday! It's Friday!
WHOOOOO HOOOOO!!
And it is going to be a beautiful weekend!
I am going to get out and play in the sun!
Maybe we will go on another picnic...

Spring Has Sprung!
There are pretty little patches of yellow wild flowers popping up everywhere! YAY! Spring is here!! I can't wait for the purple patches to come. (See above - that is how the hillsides will look pretty soon)
Even the Golden California Poppies are popping up - with the late rains this year - I am thinking it will be a BEAUTIFUL spring and summer FULL of glorious wild flowers! Gotta love that!
I can't wait to check out the dessert and mountain flowers - they will come next.
FUN FACTS: Golden poppies grow wild throughout California. Native American Indians used the poppies for food and oils. Try placing some on top of your next salad... beautiful!
