Oh Man! It has been a horribly long work week this week - CRAZINESS HERE!!!

...it will be nice to be home this weekend... lots more to get done to prepare for the Christmas holiday...most of the shopping is done - the lights outside are up, have been since the day after Thanksgiving... now comes the FUN stuff!! Decorating the house!

Oh What A Relief!

I took Tumbleweed to the Vet on Wednesday - turns out her lumps (the doc discovered another tiny one) are just fatty tumors and her doc says nothing to worry about - he says they may get a larger over time and that it was good we checked them out when they are so little - because if they WERE something else we could remove them at that size really easily... he said that we would not have to stick an needle in either one of those again... since they will not become something else than what they are now- just fat cells.... Sooooo we are Very relieved....

PS - Dr Paulson said - she looks great and that I take VERY good Care of her! He said if i keep it up - she will live to be one very old Dog :-) Thanks! :-) that made me feel good...

A Scary Discovery

Last night I was resting with my dog, petting her when I made a very SCARY discovery!!!! Tumbleweed has a Big lump on her side just under her ribcage - it is about the size of a ping pong ball and feels a lot like Jello...I don't know how it just popped up like that - i never noticed anything there before - and I pet her all over everyday, sorta like a full body massage and brush her often too, so i just can't see why I never noticed anything there... as you can imagine - all the worst thoughts went through my mind and are still filling it. I did a little research on the web about lumps and bumps on dogs - it was only a little encouraging to read that it may go away on it's own and that they are really common near the abdomen in female mixed breeds (which she is) and as long as it is not reddening or becoming hairless in the area it shouldn't be very painful for the dog...

...but still, I am very scared for her - she just turned 8 and is such a happy and healthy dog otherwise... I just can't imagine life without her yet - she is still so puppy-like to me...I will take her to the vet Wednesday and have him take a good look at it...til then pleeeeeease say a little prayer for her...

Soy Sauce Chicken

Here is another old Recipe of My Mom's... quick to prepare, easy to make and very good... if you like Soy Sauce you will love this!

2-3 lbs bone in chicken

1 cup Soy Sauce

1 cup white vinegar

2 Cloves Garlic (crushed)

1/2 cup water

Pepper

2 Tbls Butter

Bring liquids and garlic to a boil in a large pot. Rub chicken with butter, sprinkle with pepper and add this to the pot. Cover and boil, stirring occasionally until meat falls off the bone.... YUM! Serve over steamed white rice...

TIP: need it done faster? Pre-cook chicken in a microwave save bowl half filled with water for 2 or 3 minutes before boiling...

A Dark Scary Day in the USA

I fear what the future will hold with the Democrats holding the majority of the house - I am nervous not just because the Demos are the majority - but because are party lines are no longer as black and white as they once were, liberal ideas are bleeding all over the democratic party... I have to agree with Mr. Michael Savage that, "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder!" - they just spread a lot of nonsense... sort of like they can't really see the WHOLE picture... drives me nuts... I just hope the Senate stays balanced and ...LORD help us should Hilary get her wish in the 2008 election... UGH! I am afraid there are so many women in this country that they may storm the polls in '08 just to have a woman as President.... oh what a BAD thing that would be... I just hope the female population is smarter than that....

I will be voting for Duncan Hunter in 2008 and I just hope he can really get himself out there before then so people know who he is and what he is about...

Pray for our troops...

You know some times when things are hard and you find yourself doing without and fretting over what you don't have... try to think about what you DO have... as Americans we are so overwhelmed with THINGS... SO MANY THINGS... There are people in Africa who have ONE pair of pants and ONE shirt... We are very very fortunate.

My Friends Gunny's recent travels (http://ngslproject.org/ethiopia/) to Ethopia as well as some books on Africa I have recently read have given me knew value to our lives here in the US...We have more than any ONE person could possibly need yet we seem to always want more... Kinda makes you rethink your next purchase...
