We are okay and home safely....
We spent our entire trip worrying about the fires back at home and we could not get away from the news of it - as it was on all the channels, radios, and on the front page of all the newspapers in all the cities we visited. Our cell phone was constantly ringing with news and information. Many of our friends were evacuated.
We came home to a dirty house full of ash pushed down through the chimney and cracked windows by the 70+ MPH winds... and back in our lives again was that smelled of fire and hazy brownish air... But we came HOME TO OUR HOME and that is what counts....I feel horrible for all those who have lost thier homes and belongings, Our prayers go out to them!

When and where is that picture from? Wow...I can't imagine. So sorry to hear about the damage, and I'm glad you're safe and sound.
It was taken by one of my old bosses, Mike Wheeler, it was taken Thursday (Oct. 25) night - he was at home (lives close to the Bancroft Exit by Grossmont Center) that is Mt Miquel burning down... the left hand side of the moutain is Carriage Hills in Spring Valley.
I am glad to hear that you are ok.
I've been praying for the poor people in California! What a tragedy!
The mount Miguel fire was scary, to close to home. I couldn't sleep because all I could hear were the helicopters getting water and my brother stayed up all night to tell us if we had to leave or not.
