Mickey and Jake Coming Soon

(Momma
Goat, Baby Mickey Goat, Me and William)

Here is a picture of one of our little baby goats just 2 days old.  We are getting twin boys!!  Well actually, one is darker than the other but never-the-less they look like twins. They are beautifully marked and will be home with us in mid-August.  William and David named their goats on the way home from meeting them.  William named his "Mickey". After Mickey Mouse of course, William's all time favorite guy!  David named his "Jake" after Jake and the Neverland Pirate's main character, Jake.  I guess we are a little Disney crazy in our house.

ouch

This is what my foot looked like the first time I screwed it up during this prenancy.  That took three weeks to heal.  Since then I have sprained my ankle twice on the same foot. It has been a month now.  It is still not better.  My ankle looks like a tennis ball is attached under the skin at the end of most days now.  All I can really do it ice it.  I don't think it is going to get better until after the baby comes and I get the extra weight off me. Hurts amd keeps me up!  Sucks!

Coming Soon!

I am sorry for the lack of posts lately. I have had a problem with my computer. I have sooooo soooo soooo many pictures on it that it will not allow me to upload any more. So we have recently purchased an external hard drive and have been uploading the pics there. This morning I finally found some time to check to make sure those photos are actually saved on the external so that I can erase them off the computer's harddrive.

So there is my tale.... And my excuse for being out of touch.

Life is good. William Walter will be eleven months on the 14th. He is growing like a weed and does all sorts of "tricks" now... :) He waves, claps his hands, and does twinkle twinkle little star in sign language, throws up his hands when we say horay... He is running for a few steps now. After those few steps, he falls then pretends he meant to by picking up the nearest toy and getting up and walking away with it. :)

I have taken some great pics and video... that will be up soon.

Til then, Hope all is well...

Take Care. William Walter in awe inside "It's a Small World." (9 months)

Let It Snow!

Yesterday would have been my Grandmother's 84th birthday.

Today is my 31st. While I was growing up we always celebrated our birthdays together since they were only a day apart. Now my birthdays are always a bittersweet day with out her. After she died my grandfather used to tell me that I was so much like my grandmother. I take comfort in that memory now. I adored my grandma, she had a special way about her that made everyone happy.

Happy Birthday Grandma - Wish we could celebrate together. In my heart we always will.

Here are some pics of the snow in the Laguna Mountains on Christmas Day this year. Ahhhh... San Diego snow!

Feeling Better

Thanks for all your nice comments. I have been taking it easy as the doc said and am feeling much better now. Thank the Lord. :)

Here are a few old pics for you. We took them out in Arizona in 2002 when visiting my Aunt Becki and Uncle Rudy. It was a great trip.My Aunt and I really loved exploring this old house. I'd like to go back there someday and take more shots of it. It had a few different rooms and it was fun to wonder about the people who once lived in it.
I will try to upload some new pics tonight or sometime today.
Have a wonderful weekend!!

On Bed Arrest

In case y'all have been wondering where I have been...

Last Friday my doctor put me on total bed rest for a week. I will spare you the details and just say I haven't been right since delivering William 7 weeks ago today. The good news is that the bed rest has seemed to be helping. Saturday or Sunday I should be back in action and maybe will have some new pics for you...

Til then have a good one.

William turns 21 and Momma Gets Her Diamonds Back!

William turned 21 yesterday! :)

...AND Momma can suddenly fit in her wedding ring again! WOOO HOOO!!! I am happy about that! I haven't been able to fit in my rings since I was 6 months pregnant.

So yesterday we were celebrating!

RO took us to IHOP for dinner. William decided he wanted to eat there too... so that he did, very discreetly of course. :) He always wants to eat when it is dinner time.

William Walter's Room

Here are some pics of William's room now.... looks pretty good eh?

Jacob helped Uncle put up all the stickers last night.

This last pic is the refinished cradle. This cradle was made for RO when he was born 30 years ago by RO's grandpa.... now it has been refinished for our little boy. He did a good job... it looks beautiful!

Grandmother's House

Schenectady, NY

Front Street

I have put off putting up this post for a while now for several reasons.
A: I really haven't come to terms with it yet.
B: It is kind of personal.
C: Some people might think I am crazy.
D: It is really pretty spooky.

But after all those thoughts, I decided, well I just don't care what people think of my thoughts and it would be fun and interesting to hear what other people thoughts on it were so.... Here you go.

Please leave a comment.

Growing up my grandparents and I were very close. They were more like parents to me than grandparents. I often stayed with them, at least once a week or more and sometimes for long periods of time. I would "run away" there when things were troubling me and I told them both everything. I felt like a free spirit around both of them - there was never anything that I could do, think or say to feel ashamed about around them. I lost my Grandma when I was 18 years old and my Grandfather in 2004, the year I was to marry. They are both gone now but not a day goes by that I don't think of them or "talk" to them. They have always been and always will be a very important part of my life.

Last October my husband and I took a much anticipated trip out to Schnectady, New York, the birth place of both my grandparents. I still have a lot of family out there and my cousin Earl (great historian that he is) took us all over town and showed us where everyone grew up, married, got baptised, died, were buried, etc..

My grandmother was from a large family. Her mother died while she was a teenager. My grandmother basically ran the house after that. She tended to the all her father's and sibling's needs and prepared dinners for the family. The pictures are of the house where she grew up and lived until she married my grandfather. The first picture (above) I took when we first were showed the house. I marveled at its size and wondered what it was like inside. I would have asked the residents if I could step inside, unfortunately there was no one home. So instead I just sat on the steps a bit, thinking my grandmother must have done the same many years ago. It was nice to just sit there awhile. My hubby RO snapped this second photo of me on the porch steps.
After that we walked for about an hour or so up and down this street and a couple others and got our history lesson on my families homes, schools and play areas. It was a great walk and a beautiful day. We were getting hungry so we where walking fast back to the car. When we got to the corner across from my grandmother's house again I stopped suddenly and told RO, "Wait I need a picture of the those steps." He said, "I already took one." I said, "I know you did. But I need you to take another one now. Please." I ran across the street and sat down for another picture. He got the camera out snapped the pic and off we went to grab some lunch as we were all very hungry after all the walking.

About a week later when we got home, I uploaded all of our trip pictures and was astonished to find this final picture of Grandma's house. Looks to me as if I was not alone on those steps that day.

Click to enlarge, it is really beautiful, there is even a rainbow.

Happy Friday!

It's Friday! Friday the 13th! WOO HOOO! I am not superstitious and happen to like Friday the 13ths... 13 is my lucky number (along with 8) and Friday is my favorite day of the week so there you have it! A pretty nice day in my opinion!

I am really excited about this weekend. Tonight my Auntie and Uncle (see previous anniversary post) are coming out from Arizona to stay with us. Tomorrow is my baby shower! YAY! FUN FUN! A lot of the friends and family that are coming I haven't seen in a long time - so it will be great! I am sure that our little William will get spoiled with gifts from all the guests. Since this is our first baby - we need EVERYTHING! Well my Momma got us a bassinet already, so baby has had a bed ready for him for some time now. My Aunt and sister are throwing me the party up at the clubhouse where we live and some of the hubbies are going to BBQ at our house. So there is lots of fun for RO and Uncle Rudy too.

Saturday evening we are going to the San Diego County Fair! MORE FUN! I hope to see the elephants there again - although I won't be able to ride them this year - Oh well! Next year maybe I can ride with my son :) Won't that be nice? Becki hasn't been to the fair in 13 years. She is excited to be going. I will take loads of pics and be sure to post.

Have a great weekend!
